Survey Party Chief

(Newport or Coos Bay, OR)

Civil West Engineering Services is seeking a Survey Party Chief to join our growing company. The position will be based in either our Newport or Coos Bay office but will support the entire company. Interest in working from one of our other offices (Medford, Newport, and Albany) will also be considered. As our Survey Party Chief, you will provide survey support to project teams in all Civil West offices to assist with the planning, design, and/or construction of both public and private infrastructure. The Party Chief will support and expand the existing relationships Civil West has with small communities located throughout western Oregon and our private sector clients which we support on a wide range of municipal, commercial, timber, and residential type projects.  This position will require someone with an ability to coordinate survey scheduling, perform survey research, work independently, accurately gather survey data in the field and transfer and compile that data in AutoCAD format for design team use.

 

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THIS POSITION?

  • The opportunity to work under a Professional Oregon Licensed Land Surveyor.

  • Perform occasional out of town multi-day surveys.

  • Use of brand new Geomax A5 robotic total station and RTK Carlson BR7 GNSS system. A company vehicle will be provided for all work-related support efforts.

  • The ability to grow in your field of expertise while working towards your PLS Certification.

  • You will be working with a team of professionals and a Company that will support your success.

 

WHAT QUALIFCATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • 5+ years of surveying experience.

  • Utilizing industry standard field surveying practices and procedures.

  • Understanding of Professional field surveying practices and procedures.

  • Proficient in data collection, stake out, and other equipment and file management.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD Software as it relates to down/up-loading survey files.

  • The ability to calculate record boundaries from record maps in AutoCAD.

  • Strong communication skills.

  • Self-starter.

  • Responsible for the use and care of survey equipment.

  • Willingness to work in a team environment but also able to work independently.

The Civil West headquarters are located on the beautiful Oregon coast in Coos Bay. Our engineers hold professional registrations in Oregon, California, Washington, and multiple other states. WHERE IS THE WORK?

Most of our work occurs throughout Oregon, at one of our four office locations on the North Coast (Newport), Willamette Valley (Albany), South Coast (Coos Bay), and Rogue Valley (Medford).  We have work on projects outside of Oregon including projects in Hawaii, Washington, California among a few other states. We are always looking for new and exciting projects to support no matter their location.
