Civil West Engineering Services is seeking a Wastewater Systems Engineer to join our growing firm. As a wastewater systems engineer, you will lead, and provide technical engineering guidance to project teams responsible for the planning, design, and/or construction of wastewater infrastructure. A majority of Civil West’s clients are small communities or districts, and this position will require someone with an ability to solve problems with a focus on each client’s unique needs and concerns.

 

WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT FROM THIS POSITION?

  • Shaping projects from concept through construction.

  • Building lasting relationships with clients and coworkers.

  • Supervising work completed by EITs and other project team members.

  • Preparing scopes and proposals for prospective projects.

  • Helping secure the water futures for communities throughout Oregon.

 

WHAT QUALIFCATIONS ARE WE LOOKING FOR?

  • 5+ years of engineering experience in wastewater system engineering.

  • Professional Engineering registration in Oregon (or ability to obtain within 6 months).

  • Bachelor of Science in civil, mechanical, environmental, or another relevant engineering discipline.

  • Experience planning and designing wastewater, collection and treatment facilities is required. Experience with similar systems (water or stormwater) may also be considered.

  • Aptitude with Microsoft Office products and AutoCAD Civil 3D. Experience with modeling software a plus.

  • A history of successful projects and satisfied clients.

 

WHAT DOES CIVIL WEST OFFER?

  • Signing bonuses between $5,000 and $30,000.

  • Competitive salary (Anticipated Range: $80,000 to $180,000+ DOE).

The Civil West headquarters are located on the beautiful Oregon coast in Coos Bay. Our engineers hold professional registrations in Oregon, California, Washington, and multiple other states. We strive to provide a balance between work and non-work. Normal hours are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and employees are not expected to work more than 40 hours per week (although if they elect to do so, they are compensated in a number of ways).  We have regular company get-togethers where all offices have a chance to have fun, play games, and enjoy each other’s company.

 

WHERE IS THE WORK?

Most of our work occurs throughout Oregon, at one of our four office locations on the North Coast (Newport), Willamette Valley (Albany), South Coast (Coos Bay), and Rogue Valley (Medford).  We have work on projects outside of Oregon including projects in Hawaii, Washington, California among a few other states. We are always looking for new and exciting projects to support no matter their location.

  • Coos Bay, OR (South Coast/Corporate Office): The southern Oregon coastline includes many outdoor activities like golf, camping and hiking. Coos Bay also has local breweries, a local Farmer’s Market, Jazz Festivals, amazing seafood restaurants, surfing, fishing, and many other activities for the entire family!

  • Albany, OR (Willamette Valley Office): Located in the heart of the Willamette Valley, Albany offers local breweries and dining, dozens of wineries, various family attractions (including the historic carousel and museum in downtown Albany), close proximity to Oregon State University for athletic events & activities, and is centrally located to many outdoor recreation areas (1 hour drive to the Oregon Coast, 1.5 hours to the mountains & skiing, 1.5 hours to Portland).

  • Medford, OR (Rogue Valley Office): The Rogue Valley is a true gem in Oregon. There is so much to do in and around Medford including traveling to various lakes and rivers, kayaking & rafting, fishing, hiking, skiing, mountain biking, camping, not to mention great food and great weather! Don’t forget, you are a little over a 1-hour drive from famous Crater Lake!
